B Co has replaced Recon at Laterite Pit

55 0935 Delayed Entry:  1 Plat Co A 2/14 found some papers buried in jug 161035 July 66 at XT 685123 also SA ammo 350 rds.
66 1327 Col Heard called and asked about the other patrol plans.  Bde has only one.  He was informed that the plans will be going to Bde as soon as they are completed.
67 1333 Dragon 3 informed 33 that he was going to the Laterite Pit
68 1343 Phone call from Laterite Pit, just saw a white star cluster go off 200 meters in front of their position, just to the left of the village.  4/9th Inf S-3 was called (Sgt Rocha) to see if they had any friendly troops out there.  He said no.
70 1430 Lawyer seitch called and informed Lawyer 33 that there was no LL contact with the Laterite Pit.  B Co was called and they made radio contact with them.  B Co. is going to contact the Laterite Pit every hour and give Lawyer 33 a call on LL Commo wire team is fixing the line.
71 1441 Called Bde and informed them that 2/14 was going to start firing on Ann Margaret
72 1442 Ann Margaret was informed of the firing that was to be conducted in their area.
74 1447 Ann Margaret informed that there will be 81mm mortar firing in their front.
80 1642 Bde was informed of 2/14 finishing firing at A/M
92 1940 DP3 found US Claymore mine that was disarmed at coord XT 650170
97 2035 DP3 to Mohawk Mike 6 for fire mission 1 round WP on suspected VC position.  Mission complete.
107 2115 From Capt Taylor the recon ship will be here at 1000 hrs if it is through with the lift.  If it is not here at ten oclock it will be here as soon as the lift is complete
115 2230 DP3 reported one of his men heard a noise and set off a claymore.  Results unknown.
