37 0820 Bridge reports that the light used on bridge is not adequate.  Recommend larger lights be furnished from C Co.  First Sgt.
41 0910 Delayed Entry:  From 2nd Bde 1. 0755 A Co A.P. mine exploded at XT516167, 3 WIA's, 2 litter 2. 0804 105mm command det. booby trap exploded at XT 546161, no casualties.  3. 0840 A Co mine exploded at XT546167, 3 minor WIA. fidypgg vp,[;ryrf sy 0831
48 1000 Bde notified us that Div will send us 44 men to help fulfill our commitments
51 1010 Weather warning from Bde, there will be 2 or more inches of rain within next 12 hours
64 1140 4/23 reports receiving 1 60mm round in C Co area
65 1204 Told OP AM to fire S/A and tank for 1 min out in front of AM
69 1302 From Co C, the 2nd mad minute firing has been completed at AM
70 1325 From D-33, msg "Send timber and sandbags on evening run, send as much as you can"
77 1730 Laterite Pit, garbage pit bunker was burned accidentally when flame APC fired near trash dump and hit bunker
79 1800 Call from Maj Thompson 4/9, patrol going out at 1900 to vic XT 674160 to return 0630, patrol will fire marking rounds.  Co C 1st Sgt notified, will pass on to bunker line, AM and Bridge
81 1820 Msg from Bde XO, make sure all equipment and weapons are evac from area of accident and call in report of any damaged equip.
87 1920 Patrol #1 past checkpoint #1 to set - hear voices, will inform of sitrep
106 2300 Laterite Pit - reports seeing two men approaching (thru starlight), observing the curfew, they appeared one more time before commencing firing.  Poss 1 VC KIA, other ran away behind trash pile, starlight trained to spot where enemy last seen

140 1130 3 to 6: Position coord XT 548133 have Alpha work area over to Atlantic side.  2 VC flushed out now moving in rice paddy.  After working Atlantic side work Florida end for cache
147 1207 DA6 could you give us confirmation of body count on the 2 VC

150 1210 DA located bunker at coord 547143, are blowing bunker.  Dimensions 8 ft long, 5 ft wide, 4 ft high, sent to Bde
151 1212 Warrior 65 DE D33, our D242 element reports killing 2 VC at coord 546136
152 1233 D6 DE D3, we took the road you told us to and turned left as instructed, we ran into a canal too deep for fording
154 1250 S-2 returned from Phuoc Hiep, visited outpost to deliver barrier material to outpost commander Capt Qui.  Items delivered to outpost were:  8000 sand bags, 50 rolls concertina, 200 pickets.  Capt Qui requested the use of bulldozer to level hedgerow outside of outpost.  Dozer tank to be made available on 21st
156 1306 Alpha Co sweeping east n area where possibly VC were KIA.  So far negative results.
157 1324 Alpha Co reports finding 12 150 lb sacks of rice at 553143.  Loaded on P.C.
159 1325 D33Z DE D33 request timber and sandbags on this evening run, as much as you can send out
161 1404 Alpha and Bravo DE D32, message from D3, Alpha finish mission there, search house off road 50 m in front of Sabre B element.  House is 200 m down on left side of road, after that continue on to BC.  Alpha Co leading with Bravo following.
168 1507 D33Z DE D33, request resupply of batteries for Alpha and Bravo be sent on convoy this afternoon
170 1520 D33 DE DA6X, Back at BC, rice picked up, is on one of tracks to be picked up
193 1828 A Co wants to know if they can change colors of flares because they are out of green and red.  Want to change to white cluster.
194 1840 A Co patrol #4 is going to use all white star cluster flares for all signals.
215 2026 Patrol #5 reports that 1 man fell in well injuries not determined, being brought in to medic.
250 2055 (whoever made this entry messed up the Item No. count, skipped from 219 to 250) B Co reported hearing firefight vic XT 526180
253 2105 S-3 called sitrep to 2nd Bde, neg contact, also notified of man injured on patrol
254 2108 B Co reports sighting green star cluster also patrol #6 in position, sitrep negative contact
255 2120 Dragon Bravo 6 has not had contact with patrol #5 since element has been out
259 2185 S-3 notified all elements that there is a 50 percent alert, be specially watchful for VC and Claymore, use other than M-79
265 2156 A Co 2 VC infiltrated, picked up by starlight, engaged with M-79, VC withdrew, neg casualties
267 2200 S-3 called sitrep to 2nd Bde, informed them of enemy contact
268 2210 B Co patrol #6 fired 1 claymore because anti-intrusion device went off and gave alarm.  Claymore was blown.  Neg results  XT 544182

SUMMARY:  1st Bde continued opn KAHANA as B & C Co's 4/9 Inf and B company 4/23 Inf were helilifted into LZs for S&D opns.  C 1/5 Mech, attached to 4/9 Inf, C 4/23 moved over ground and also conduct S&D operations in AO's.  All operations resulted in negative enemy contact.  2/14 Inf remained attached to 2nd Bde on Opn MIKULEIH and provided base security for the 1st Bde perimeter at Cu Chi.  The daily roadrunner operation was conducted between Xuan Loc and Bien Hoa.  The Bde CO and S3 visited the Senior American Advisor and District Chief of Tan Linh.
