S3: Informed Bravo that they have a commitment for 1 squad size patrol tonight.  Have their patrol leader at this location at 0900 for briefing

20 1030 Dragon 2 now leaving base camp for Tay Ninh
22 1130 Have fulfilled all requirements for B & C Co am returning to my location and releasing chopper
23 1132 Dragon 6 requested a dozer of some sort for tomorrow
24 1135 DB6: Inform D6 that the flame throwers will help us and disregard the dozer
26 1158 Dragon B6: Have about 25 ARVN people out here picking sweet potatoes.  Looks pretty fishy, could you have someone from S-5 along with some MI people come out here and check them out.  We're out in front of Bunker 2.  Also a Lt in charge said these people have permission to pick these potatoes outside the wire and inside the perimeter
27 1235 B6:  The ARVN Lt here says that he has authorization to be inside of the perimeter from Capt Murphy S5, they have clearance from Bde to come inside of the wire
28 1345 B6:  The situation here is stymied and the Diwee has been called and request that a S5 representative comes to this location.  Some problem was with some women who have been hustled away but they are trying to breach the wire at places not coordinated at my level.
29 1300 B6:  A platoon-sized element just appeared at my location, will advise S5 on way to your location
30 1320 B6: Would like to continue to work out here til we have completed up to bunker 3 expect to be finished by 1730, permission given by Maj Griffith.
31 1420 C Co called by radio and stated that the wire line between Bn CP and Co C was out.  Informed Bn switchboard operator
33 1438 Bravo wants RAVEN OH-23 to have a look around Chopper will be flying at 1600 if you can throw smoke
35 1615 At 1645 there will be explosions on right flank.  This will be 4/23 blowing tree stumps.
36 1630 S3: Daily briefing for Co Commanders and Staff conducted at Bn CP at 1630 hours
37 1640 S3:  Conducted land line check with C Co., wire line O.K.
40 1635 Bde: Received RTT message stating that division CG desires that polaroid photographs of all captured material to be evacuated or destroyed be taken and forwarded thru S-2 channels to Div G-2, this coverage applies also to enemy fortifications I.E. bunkers, tunnels, trenches, etc.  The back of each photo forwarded will contain following information: coordinates, disposition (evacuated, destroyed, etc.).  Unit capturing or destroying.
44 2000 Bde to Lt Muir: Tomorrow morning 0700 to 1130 hrs at pad No 5, a chopper for rations and wire, at 1530 to 1700 hrs for rations.
46 2043 S-3:  DF1 change to alternate frequency.  Change was made because of interference on primary frequency.  DP1 entered on alt. freq. at 2045 hrs.
50 2105 C6: Request we contact Saber unit and have them turn out lights shining and outlining C Co perimeter.  Sgt Green of Saber unit was notified of above request.
51 2110 Leapfrog called to report two people speaking English, vicinity of their position.  Requested information concerning Ops, or Lps front this unit in their area
52 2150 DL5: An anti-intrusion device was set off in front of my position.  Don't believe any person sit it off.  Am going to send 2 men forward to check it out.  Will keep you informed.
54 2211 DL5: Personnel checked break in anti-intrusion device.  Found nothing.  Reset device.
57 2310 S3 to Co B, C, Bde S3: At 2310 hrs, Hq 87 (3/4 ton truck from which Bde & Bn FM radios are remoted) would not start.  Hq 3 Veh was moved into position next to Hq 87 & Bn & Bde net was remoted off of this vehicle at 2324 and 2320 hours respectively.  In the meantime a Prc 25 radio was used to remain in the Bde FM net.  Co B & Co C were notified by land line at 2311 hours that if they had traffic for this station to use land line until FM net was reestablished.

B/4/9 apprehended 12 persons, questioning

36 0935 4/9 fwd requested dustoff for 1 female shot in arm
39 1012 B/4/9 recd sniper fire, returned fire w/MG.  Results unknown
40 1020 B/4/9 discovered numerous generators, motors
41 1030 B/1/5 Mech hit mine, slight damage to roadwheel, believe can be fixed on site
42 1036 Convoy today consists of 151 wheel veh, 18 APC's, 3 wreckers.  Time length, 32 min.
44 1053 B/4/9 has in their possession at this time 75-80 males, 10-12 females (some are VC sympathizers) and 1100 lbs of rice.  Unit has requested MI team
47 1125 B/4/9 has over 500 tons of unprocessed rubber
52 1221 Ref Item 44:  Total on rice is 3 tons, 85 persons of 180 detainees have been questioned, 81 cleared, 4 classified as VCS
59 1512 Manchu 6 bringing in VCC
