1	0002	S3: 2/14th Inf Patrol Freq. jammed. Request permission to use the set that S3 2/14 used to communicate with Bde on the Patrol Alternate frequency. Granted.
		Initial log entries contain hourly sit/rep, and reports of patrols leaving ambush sites and arriving back at base camp. All negative contact.
2	0035	S3: The jamming on patrol freq. ceased. Radio contact was made with both patrols. Reestablishing radio commo with Bde.
9	0610	Capt Cheu 3/21st Inf: The squad that is going out with the platoon will be a few minutes late due to a required standto in their Bm. Will be there approx 0715.
12	0640	C Co said they would pick up the squad from the 196 at the air strip
13	0706	B Co patrol destroyed booby trapped grenade
22	0947	From Co B Sgt Holbrook: Have sighted 6 people working in field about 100 meters from 3rd Plat wire.
26	1026	Co C located vic coord 171487, will secure a platoon base and remain in position here until approx 1230 hrs.
30	1155	Co C platoon received sniper fire at vic coord XT168488. One (1) casualty shot in neck. Require dustoff. LZ secure.
32	1220	Co C wounded man was FO from 3/21st Inf, condition serious. Dust off completed.
41	1240	S3 to A,B,C. Range firing for this afternoon has been cancelled.
42	1245	Co C (Monitored) It appears that the arty is moving away from C Co's area, C Co wants it closer.
43	1250	Maj Griffith: Tell Viking 14 that we are right behind his CP ready to go. Would appreciate if he'd get going.
44	1252	Maj Griffith: 2 lifts of 5 choppers & 1 lift of one chopper for C Co.
45	1255	S3: Ref item 32, wounded man was from Co C 2/14 Inf and not 3/21.
48	1305	Col Davis to Maj Griffith: Check ox cart at location from Zulu up 1.0 right .2
49	1305	From S3 to Bn CO: Helicopter drew some AW fire when taking off LZ from vic coord 158486
54	1345	From A Co, a man in A/2/14 was cleaning his 45 cal pistol and accidentally shot himself. He is now at the dispensary for treatment.
55	1348	S3: (Monitored) Heard a burst of automatic weapons fire about 750 meter to the front of C Co lead element
63	1533	S3: (Monitored) C Co received small arms fire approx one burst of automatic rifle fire, about 3 rds. No casualties. Coord 17254860
66	1620	S3: A Co left starting point at 1620 hrs for Laterite security mission.
98	2210	Recon reports sighting lights moving along river. Vic A Co location approx coord XT110495. Approx 6 lights moving or flashing from north to sough. Approx AZ 270 degrees from laterite pit.

31	0740	G3 reports that dawn patrol spotted 3 steel containers vic XT427233. Wants landslide to check out.
47	1200	C/2/14 requested dustoff XT171487. 1 litter case. Results of sniper fire.
51	1320	2d lift C/2/14 off 1307. 1st lift recd SA fire coord XT15846 1305 hrs.
52	1324	3d lift C/2/14 off 1317. 2d lift on LZ 1309 recd no fire.
54	1353	1340 1 man from A/2/14 while cleaning 45 cal pistol shot self in hand. Evac to medical facilities
55	1520	A/4/9 loc 2 60mm mort rds XT665174. Destroyed in place.
60	1612	C/2/14 received 3 rds AW fire at XT172486
61	1612	A/2/14 departed to secure Laterite Pit
78	2056	2/14 reaction force. 6 tanks at 2400 laterite pit security missions change to ambush. C/2/14 patrol 1 departed.
81	2125	7/11 requests permission to fire illum at XT 158522 susp 5 VC cutting wire.
84	2155	Ann Margaret recd 2 rds mort or rifle grenades at 2130. Fire returned by M-79, results unknown.
93	2400	SUMMARY: 1st Bde TF continues opn OAHU and secured base for opn Blue Jay. 2/14 Inf conducted a plat daylight recon patrol in AO 1-B. 2/14 Inf was relieved of their portion of the bunker line by the 196th. 4/23 defended proposed bunker line for opn Blue Jay. A one company (-) search and recon mission was conducted today in teh vic of base camp. 1/5 Mech conducted maintenance and exchanged A 1/5 at Go Dau Ha with B 1/5. One roadrunner dptd Tay Ninh at 0930 hrs, arriving Cu Chi at 1200H with 75 vehicles. 1/5 Mech conducts BLOCKBUSTER. One plat 4/23 conduct search and recon of area to the northwest of Bde base extending out 1500-2000m. 2/14 Inf will conduct maintenance and training.
