From 2/14 Aid Station to S3:  PFC Gardiner, A Co runner for BTOC was bitten or stung on the right hand sometime during the night.  He was given an injection by the medics.

8 0821 Message from Lightning 2:  Saigon Police received a report that demonstrators will burn any US vehicle found in the streets of Saigon and will attack any soldier on the streets of Saigon.
9 0840 S2 2/1 Inf:  (Monitored) Small arms sniper fire received at coord XT 175512 by platoon located coord 171509.  Check was made with C Co 2/14 and it was reported by this Co that firing seemed to come from ARVN outpost.
11 0918 From Sonar Shopper 25: (Monitored)  Unit requesting dustoff is Sonar Shopper 36, casualty is 1 VN civilian with multiple wounds.  LZ secure, will mark with smoke
13 1115 S3 to 196th S3:  Capt Deliz called 196 Bde S3 (Maj Gallahger) reference clearance for 2/14 personnel to take a guided tour of Tay Ninh this afternoon at approx 1315 hrs.
15 1200 Tour scheduled in Tay Ninh was disapproved by CG in light of increased terrorist activities before elections.
16 1325 Catholic Chaplain will be unable to conduct church services at Tay Ninh today because to two more scheduled services at Cu Chi.  Lt S3 Rear know if Catholic Chaplain should come to Tay Ninh tomorrow.
20 1610 Capt Vahtel called with the following:  1.  Be sure that Money Order Clerk returns to Cu Chi on today's flight from Tay Ninh.  2.  Two (2) men in Co A (Pollard & Hebel) should go back today to Cu Chi as they are supposed to go on R&R tomorrow 5 Sep 66.  3. Capt. Manley is being reassigned to 1st AVN Bde in Saigon effective 8 Sep 66.
26 1920 Small arms fire was heard vic B Co 2/1st Inf, a check with 2/1st Inf revealed that B Co 2/1st Inf was receiving sniper fire and fire had been returned with small arms and M-79 grenade launcher.
28 2015 Hugamayer, William, Co C evacuated to 196th.  He has a very high temperature, cause unknown at this time.
31 2030 2/1 Inf received 6 rounds sniper fire from vic XT 181518.  A team was sent out to check area and drew four additional rounds.  Illumination requested, no contact made.
