7	0205	4/23 fwd reports patrol spotted movement 250 meters west of their position and a 50 cal. MG was firing about 500 meters north of patrol location, firing probing rounds (1 every 10 min), patrol remaining in position. No friendly action being taken at this time.
23	0835	A/4/9 found and destroyed 1 grenade booby-trap XS784813.
24	0846	A/4/9 picked up 3 male detainees XS783814, disposition unk at this time.
25	0906	2/14 will fire .50 cal from bunker line 1030 to 1200.
26	0915	4/23 MEDCAP portion of today's operation cancelled due to unavailability of aircraft.
32	1120	A/4/9 enroute to ZULU bringing total of 10 detainees to Binh Chanh for further interrogation.
36	1225	4/23 2d lift complete. Received some AW and SA fire from vic XS706734. Fire was returned and ceased.
39	1355	A/4/23 located Medical supplies cache vic XS704728. Exact items unknown at this time.
65	2400	SUMMARY: 1st Bde continued Opn LANIKAI & KALIHI with 4/9 Inf conducting Co size airmobile assault in Gia Dinh province being extracted by air, closing Cu Chi at 1355 hrs. 4/23 Inf continued LANIKAI with S&D BUDDY opn with Co A conducting airmobile assault in Long An Province. 2/14 Inf remains attached to 2nd Bde.
