4/9 S-2 reports attack on bridge at An Luc XS759559 has ceased, bridge not damaged, area secure.

Called 4/9 fwd to obtain additional info on bridge at An Luc vic XS759859.  All that is known is that the bridge was attacked with 57mm recoilless rifle fire and mortars.  Bridge is still in, however it is not known if bridge was damaged or not.  3 PF guards were wounded during the attack.  Bridge is passable.

72 72 SUMMARY:  1st Bde continued Opn LANIKAI in Long An and Gia Dinh Provinces and local security opns in 1st and 2nd Bde areas at Cu Chi base.  4/9 provided two platoons OPCON to 3/4 Cav.  A/4/9 with 30th ARVN Ranger Bn conducted a S&D BUDDY Opn in Gia Dinh Province.  Neg contact.  2/14 remained attached to 2nd Bde.  4/23 conducted local security and ambushes in Ben Luc area, neg contact.  A MEDCAP was conducted at XS641713.  A/4/23 returned to Cu Chi by veh convoy closing at 211300 Nov.  Joint Opn centers (US/ARVN) remain established at Tan An and Binh Chanh.  Four VMAF air strikes were flown in support of 1st Bde security operations.
PLAN SUMMARY:  1.  4/9 Inf Bn will continue to conduct local security, ambushes, defense of outpost Ann Margaret, the Laterite Pit and provide two (2) platoons OPCON 3/4 Cav.  Co B will conduct S&D Op in obj area center of mass XT690120 commencing 220630 hrs.  2.  2/14 Inf Bn will remain attached to the 2nd Bde.  3.  4/23 Inf Bn will conduct a S&D BUDDY Op.  Co C and elements of 3/50 ARVN will conduct S&D op to an objective area vic XS656791 commencing 221500 Nov.  A stay-behind ambush will be left in the objective area.  Co A will conduct S&D opn OPCON 3/4 Cav.
