17	0800	B/2/14 found and destroyed a 105mm dud XT663177, will blow in place.
18	0810	2/14 to fire SA on 4/9 range from 1000 to 1200 hrs 1 Dec 66.
22	0928	2/14 MEDCAP departed Cu Chi base camp at 0900. 69 patients treated, 20 teeth pulled. Competed 1200.
30	1250	G-2 reports at 010640 Dec 66 (4) CH-47 aircraft received 400 rds of 50 Cal fire from 3 GVN positions vic XT6230. 1 aircraft was hit, however continued mission.
34	1645	G-2 Air VR report: 1100 hrs XT577280 7 men in rice paddy fired on with Arty. 3 KIA (BC), 4 KIA (Poss). Recent ox cart traffic leading west from XT583302.
52	2400	SUMMARY: 1st Bde continued Opn LANIKAI in Long An Province and initiated Opn FAIRFAX in Gia Dinh Province, continued local security and ambush Opns in the FILHOL Plantation. 4/9 Inf (-) moved from Cu Chi to Binh Chanh by convoy closing at 0929 hrs. 2/14 Inf conducted local security ambush opn. Co B conducted S&D Opn in the FILHOL Plantation to an obj area vic XT670195 and returned to Cu Chi base at 1350 hrs. 4/23 Inf conducted local security op in the Ben Luc and Cu Chi areas, Co A & C conducted CHECKMATE BUDDY Opn with two platoons 3/50 ARVN vic XS612788 and XS635784 respectively. ASCC's remain established vic Tan An, Ben Luc and Binh Chanh. One USAF CAS mission was flown in support of 1st Bde security opns. PLANS SUMMARY: 1. 4/9 Inf Bn will conduct local security and ambush op in the Binh Chanh and Cu Chi areas. Co C will conduct a S&D BUDDY opn with one platoon and local RF/PF forces vic XS7578 at 0730 hrs. 2/14 Inf will continue local security and ambush opn in the Cu Chi base area. Co C will conduct S&D in the FILHOL Plantation moving at 0345 to an obj area vic XT695171. 4/23 Inf will continue local security and ambush op vic Ben Luc and Cu Chi base area. Co C will conduct an airmobile S&D BUDDY opn. The Co will conduct airmobile assault on LZ's vic XS652808 and XS654805 and conduct S&D toward Xs630780. 3/50 ARVN will block vic XS630780.
