25	0900	Defoliation mission to be flown on bunker line from 0915-1200. No firing of weapons from bunker line.
27	0920	2/14 MEDCAP began in Vinh Cu, XT670140, secured by ENTAC platoon and Radar section.
32	1110	2/14, 65th Engr and G-3 notified that Rach Kien recon has been postponed.
33	1130	C/4/9 1st squad, 1st platoon in fire fight with estimated VC squad vic XS780778. Fight continuing. No US casualties, 3rd platoon committed to assist.
34	1154	Ref Item 33: VC broke contact, 3rd platoon linked up with 1st squad, US force in pursuit of VC.
35	1200	2/14 MEDCAP and security element closed Cu Chi base camp from Vinh Cu.
36	1234	Ref Item 34: Search of area revealed no VC bodies. Unit is returning to base.
40	1515	2/14 notified to carry protective masks on operation tomorrow.
65	2215	2/14 reports observed movement vic XT668162 moving toward 4/9 position. Fired M-79 with unk results.
72	2400	SUMMARY: 1st Bde continued opn LANIKAI, FAIRFAX and continued security and ambush opns. 4/9 Inf continued FAIRFAX with two company S&D BUDDY opns vic XS7079 and XS7678. 2/14 Inf conducted local security in the Cu Chi base area. 4/23 Inf continued LANIKAI by completing three day BUDDY opn with 3/50 ARVN vic XS6072. Development of Bn base vic Binh Chanh continued. 3/22 Inf was released from OPCON 050600. PLANS SUMMARY: 4/9 Inf (FAIRFAX) will conduct a two-company S&D BUDDY opn vic XS7479 and XS7478. A/4/9 will establish Co base vic XS745784. C/2/14 Inf conducts one Co S&D opn in FILHOL Plantation vic XT6619 and local security missions in Cu Chi base camp area. B/4/23 Inf conducts S&D BUDDY opn with 3/50 ARVN vic XS6574. Unit will establish Co base in obj area and continue opn until 8 Dec.
