4	0101	C/2/14 patrol has spotted some people at XT678174. Holding up before going into position, approx 150 meters from ambush site at XT677171.
14	0725	A/2/14 departed by convoy to Ben Luc 0715 hrs.
15	0726	A/2/14 at checkpoint #1 0722 hrs. (XT629127)
17	0750	A/2/14 at checkpoint #2 0740 hrs. (XT712071)
19	0915	A/2/14 located as follows: CP-3-XS791950-0849 hrs. CP-4-XS795935-0855 hrs. CP-5-XS794890-0910 hrs.
20	0940	A/2/14 loc at CP 6 vic XS762861 at 0922 hrs.

34	1259	A/4/9 picked up 10 detainees vic: 4 detainees vic XS772801, 4 detainees vic XS780790, 2 detainees vic XS777797. The 2 detainees at XS777797 had maps on Tan Son Nhut/Saigon area.
40	1410	Recon 2/14 closed Cu Chi base camp form Ben Luc at 1410 hrs.
42	1430	C/4/9 on CHECKMATE operation detonated a M-16 Bouncing Betty mine vic XS791768. 4 WIA (3 litter, 1 ambulatory). Dustoff requested.
59	2111	From Col Hyatt per conversation with Maj. Colson. Col Hyatt had much guidance from Col Pope and Col Pope wanted to know why we are not going faster with the far-reaching portions of FAIRFAX plans. Col Hyatt briefed Col Pope and Col Pope seemed satisfied with Col Hyatts answers on general concepts.
69	2400	SUMMARY: The 1st Bde continued FAIRFAX and LANIKAI and conducted security opn in its forward and rear bases. The 4/9 Inf continued FAIRFAX with S&D BUDDY opn. The 2/14 Inf conducted local security opn in Ben Luc and Cu Chi base areas. 4/23 Inf (-) moved from Ben Luc to Cu Chi base area and was attached to teh 2nd Bde at 1425 hrs. ASCC's remain established at Tan An, Ben Luc and Binh Chanh. PLANS SUMMARY: 1. 4/9 Inf conduct airmobile opn in the Binh Chanh district. 2. 2/14 Inf Bn HQ and HHC will move by convoy to Ben Luc.
