1	0007	C Co reports that they opened fire on 2 VC at vic coord XS 746695. Results 1 VC KIA (Poss).
		Initial log entries contain hourly sit/rep, no change.
35	0950	S3: The Red Cross girls arrived at Rach Kien base camp to entertain the troops.
68	2010	C Co Patrol 1 reports 6 VC moving east to west between him and patrol 6. C Co notified patrol 6 to be alert. VC are not close enough for patrol 1 to engage.
74	2112	C Co patrol 1 reports having one man bitten by something and medic advises an emergency re-entry to base camp.
80	2305	Entac platoon patrol 4 sprung their ambush at 2305 hrs resulting in 1 VC KIA (BC) and 1 captured carbine.
81	2357	Entac platoon patrol 4 receiving SA fire and rifle grenades.

2	0020	C/2/14 observed 2 VC XS746695. Unit fired on VC resulting in 1 VC KIA (Poss).
3	0135	C/3/22 had 2 hand grenades thrown from a house vic XS897775 resulting in 3 US WIA's. Occupants of house being helf for interrogation by MI. Dustoff requested and completed by 0144.
5	0220	Ref Item 3: Occupants of house consist of 2 males (one a son from Saigon who just arrived today) 2 females and 6 children. Two handles from the grenades were found inside the house.
11	0635	Delayed Entry 0345: C/4/9 sprung an ambush vic XS743973 against undetermined nbr of VC resulting in 1 VC KIA (BC).
12	0735	Ref Item 3 and 5: A search of the house and surrounding area revealed 1 VC body and a search of the body revealed 3 Chicom grenades, 1 45 Cal pistol with 42 rounds of ammo and holster. 1 detainee was picked up at 100130 and 2 were picked up this AM.
14	0755	1st lift of A/4/9 departed at 0750 hrs. 1st lift on ground 0758, neg contact. 2nd lift on ground at 0804. LZ 5 & 6. Rec'd ground fire at XS663818 400 meters northeast of LZ 5 0813. Result neg casualties.
15	0920	Delayed Entry: Ref to C/4/9 ambush. The man came from a village vic XS735973, he was a resident with no ID. Report indicates there are 3 WIA in village. Will be checked by ARVN.
24	1100	A/4/9 destroyed 12 bunkers with overhead vocres vic XS667837, neg contact.
29	1315	3rd ARVN Bn reports set off a grenade booby-trap, result 1 WIA ARVN, litter patient, requested dustoff.
31	1415	3rd ARVN Bn reports destroying 2 Chicom type hand grenades vic XS671815.
43	1930	C/3/22 ambush site received SA and AW fire from unknown nbr of VC from vic XS861783.
51	2317	2/14 Entac platoon sprung ambush at XS733694 resulting in 1 VC KIA (BC), 1 carbine captured. 2 VC KIA (Poss).
53	2400	SUMMARY: 1st Bde continued opns FAIRFAX and LANIKAI. 4/9 Inf continued opn FAIRFAX with an airmobile S&D BUDDY opn with 3rd ARVN Airborne Bn vic XS6584 and XS6784. 2/14 Inf continued opn LANIKAI with local security; 3/22 Inf continued local security. PLANS SUMMARY: 4/9 Inf (LANIKAI) will conduct an air assault vic XS753673 and XS748668, conduct S&D and saturation ambushing vic XS7567. 3/22 Inf will continue relief of units with B/3/22 moving to Nha Be and A/3/22 moving to Dau Tieng.
