Daily Journal contained six pages of entries detailing the movement of patrol, listening posts and local patrols.  None made contact or reported anything unusual the entire day.

From Tan An:  Ferry was sunk near Highway 5 XS815775.

13 0930 C/4/9 reports capturing assorted documents, 3 hammocks and bandages vic XS668824.  5 bunkers destroyed vic XS662825.
26 1815 A/4/9 engaged 3 VC at XS678847, with SA and Arty.  3 VC KIA (Poss).
35 2400 SUMMARY:  1st Bde continues opns FAIRFAX and LANIKAI.  ASCC's remain established at Ben Luc, Binh Chanh, Rach Kien, Tan An and Gia Dinh.  4/9 Inf continues joint BUDDY opns with 3rd ARVN Airborne Bn and providing limited Engr road repair assistance to 46th ARVN Regt.  A Co continues opns from its fwd base XS684851.  2/14 Inf Bn conducted local security vic Rach Kien base.
PLANS SUMMARY:  4/9 Inf Bn will continue FAIRFAX with BUDDY opns and area Eagle flights.  Co A will continue fwd base construction and ambush opns in the fwd base area.  Co B will continue security of the B & C Co bases and provide route security in the Binh Chanh area and conduct Eagle flights vic XS682829.  2/14 Inf will continue LANIKAI with airmobile S&D BUDDY opns.  Co A and B will conduct airmobile assaults on multiple LZ's surrounding a village vic XS752666 and conduct seal and search opns.  S&D opns will be performed in the areas surrounding the village and saturation patrols conducted at night.  Co C is the reaction force.
