C Co patrol 1 reports 1 man wounded in the legs by a mine at VIC XS752697. Dustoff requested.
27 0940 Recon platoon reported semi-roadblock consisting of straw and a sign vic XS 742745. Will bring sign and also some VC leaflets picked up at this loc to 2/14th CP. 32 1015 B Co reports receiving sporadic sniper fire vic XS 718725. Fire returned. 37 1310 S3 to S4: Capt Friend requested that S-4 send four APC's back to this loc after Co B's supplies had been transported to them vic XS725725. S-4 replied he would check with OIC of 3/10 Cav ARVN and let him know of APC requirement. 4 APC's are to be used to transport Co A's supplies tomorrow to new Co Base. 41 1337 B Co reports receiving sniper fire vic XS726718. Sending an element to sweep area. 43 1405 B Co reports one of his elements is presently in a firefight at vic XS 711731, Arty being fired, estimate 3-5 VC. That same element is searching area. 44 1410 B Co reports 1 VC KIA (Poss) by Arty vic XS711731. 45 1435 B Co reports 1 civilian wounded seriously - request dustoff vic XS713728, LZ is secure. 60 1920 B Co reported seeing 5 VC XS 718732. They received 4 rounds SA fire. No friendly casualties. B Co returned fire and called in Arty. 2 VC KIA (Poss) by Arty.

On this day the 2/14th Inf Bn was the only battalion attached to 1st Brigade. Since most of the 2/14 S-3 log entries above were also reported to Brigade HQ, they were duplicated in the 1st Bde S2/S3 log, but they will not be repeated here. I've included only entries that contain unique or unusual information

SUMMARY: 1st Bde continued opn LANIKAI with 2/14 Inf conducting S&D opn from Rach Kien to vic XS724726 to establish a forward base and construct an outpost.
PLANS SUMMARY: 2/14 Inf will continue opn LANIKAI with a joint BUDDY opn with 1/50 ARVN and elements of 1/46 ARVN and 3/10 Cav. Ground and heliborne assaults will be conducted vic XS7070 and XS6870
