12	0830	A Co change of command ceremony, everyone is invited. Capt Byers will become new A Co CO.
13	0850	From S3 to B Co: Called EOD team reference miss fires of 60mm and 81mm mortars. They instructed us to turn them in ASAP.
18	1110	From B Co to 33: 1st Sgt from B Co is going to submit a DF so he can have the required amounts of ammunition down on the bunker line.
20	1205	C Co XO reports water buffalo are grazing in the area of the firing range and he will not be able to fire.
28	1945	From outpost Ann Margaret to S3: Reports seeing a white star cluster approx 3000 meters 75 degree azimuth.
29	1950	From S3 Bde to Se: Bde said notify Sgt Maj Parker that they need 10 more men for MARS station detail.
30	2000	Ann Margaret reports red flash 2000 meters in front of OP A/M Azimuth 50 degrees
31	2000	2/14 Inf executed a counter-mortar drill, all patrols were notified of this, a 100% alert was maintained and all Co's were also notified of this, all patrols held position, 2/14 Inf executed counter-mortar test (SOP)
32	2010	From HQ to S3: HHC 2/14 Inf is all accounted for and in bunker position.
33	2010	From B Co to S3: B Co is all present and accounted for and on 100% alert
34	2012	From Radar to S3: Fire mission mortar flashes Azimuth 554 mil range 1500 meters
35	2015	From S3 to Co C: S3 ordered 106 section on bunker line to be prepared to fire on targets on order.
36	2020	From Radar to S3: Bunker 11 reports target at azimuth 265 mils range 160 meters.
37	2021	From S3 to Bde: Engaged XT 666178 suspected mortar loc Arty will fire at suspected mortar location.
38	2025	From 1st Bde to S3: All clear on counter-mortar attack (DRILL) was sounded at 2030 hours
40	2040	From A/M to S3: Ann Margaret switchboard has a short, Ann Margaret will be off landline approx 10 min, radio comm will be in effect.

		On this day the 2/14th Inf Bn was the only battalion attached to 1st Brigade. Since most of the 2/14 S-3 log entries above were also reported to Brigade HQ, they were duplicated in the 1st Bde S2/S3 log, but they will not be repeated here. I've included only entries that contain unique or unusual information
18	2400	SUMMARY: 1st Bde continued security opns and maintenance vic Cu Chi base and provided one company as Div base reaction force. PLANS SUMMARY: 2/14 Inf will conduct a company size S&C opn vic XT6814 and continue defense in sector.
