16	0710	From B Co to S3: B Co was relieved of commitment of having 106mm recoilless rifles on the bunker line by A Co.
18	0815	Recon reports elements were approx 600 meters from downed APC, Retriever 200 to 300 meters closer, working on it.
21	0930	Recon needs 300 meters of 3/4 or 1 inch cable and splicing facilities to get APC out.
22	0950	S3 Retriever element has decided to try to get 4-6 water buffalo to pull cable to APC.
25	1030	Arty above Tower 3 observed VC in open at coord XT618180. Strike put in suspected location.
28	1155	B Co will sweep area where strike took place.
29	1300	From Bde to S3: Spot report 1 VC squad under observation at XT586153.
32	1406	B Co requests dustoff for one US WIA at coord XT 623178, punji spike stuck in his leg.
39	1540	B Co reports finding 1 bunker recently used, 15 SA ammo, explosives and documents (2 lbs). Received approx 6 rifle grenades or mortars at vic XT623178.
53	2350	B Co 16 element rec'd 2 rounds incoming while defcon was being fired, no friendly casualties.

4	0201	2nd Bde tower thought they heard an oxcart at XT638164, also saw movement. Will continue to observe with starlite and radar.
11	0705	C/2/14 blew 3 M-79 rounds outside Ann Margaret.
15	0935	C/4/9 located and destroyed 5 bunkers at XS693966.
21	1125	S2 4/9 reports 16 detainees picked up, released as civilians.
22	1128	Civil Engineers working vic XS723974 found one AT mine approx 20 lbs. Will destroy in place.
23	1200	A/4/9 picked up one detainee vic XS704927, will evac. Found to be VC.
29	1400	B/2/14 rec'd 1 US WIA from punji pit located XT623178. Dustoff requested.
36	1555	B/2/14 found 1 bunker XT623178 with warm bowls of rice, explosives, ammo and documents, will evac to Cu Chi. Rec'd 6 rounds rifle grenades or mortars XT623178. No casualties.
43	1950	4/9 reports 2 sampans vic XS630880 with 8-10 VC aboard. Called Arty. Results 8 VC KIA (Poss).
50	2308	From G3: A vehicle or oxcart was observed at XT653183, it stopped and 6-8 VC dismounted and were moving towards 4/23 bunker line. 4/23 and 2/14 notified.
53	2400	SUMMARY: Operation ALA MOANA, MAKALAPA and security opns vic Cu Chi base continue. 4/9 Inf continued to improve Bn bases, and separate company bases. A/4/9 and B/4.9 continue saturation patrolling vic their respective bases with C/4/9 as reaction force and security for FSB. 2/14 Inf continues security opns vic Cu Chi base and company S&D opns with C/2/14 returning from S&D in FILHOL Plantation. 4/23 constitutes Division reserve under Div control. PLANS SUMMARY: 4/9 Inf Bn continue saturation patrolling vic XS7397 and B/4/9 conducts airmobile sweep vic XS7291. 2/14 Inf Bn continues security opns vic Cu Chi base with B/2/14 continuing company size S&D vic XT6217. 4/23 Inf continues to provide division reserve under division control.
