A Co patrol 1 reports suffering 1 WIA at vic XT619163, man tripped booby-trap, requires dustoff, litter case, shrapnel in both legs.

10 0502 A Co patrol 1 reports another casualty from same booby trap, not serious, shrapnel in chest.
24 0810 Recon reports they are pulling APC out at this time, should be finished today.
25 0825 A Co at Laterite pit reports 5 incoming SA rounds from north towards the bunker line.
27 0900 Recon reports the APC has been pulled in 100 meters.  225 meters more to dry ground.
29 1005 Recon reports the APC has been pulled to dry ground.
32 1130 Recon is now departing downed APC site for Cu Chi, closed base camp at 1246 hrs.
57 2305 A Co patrol 4 is receiving rounds that seem to be Arty coming from their east and landing 300-500 meters to their east.
58 2330 Lancer TOC called to inform us that the arty from Phu Loi was firing east of 70 grid line, Lancer is checking.

A/2/14 patrol 1 vic XT619163 requested dustoff for 1 WIA with fragment wounds on both legs from hand grenade booby-trap.

10 0530 A/4/9 reported a PA set (motorized) was making an announcement by their perimeter vic XS7093, running northeast to vic XS7194, they were told to halt, did not do so.  They were brought under fire with AW and SA.  Neg results.
14 0705 C/4/9 rec'd 10 rounds sniper fire vic XS709942.  No casualties.
16 0735 C/4/9 found 4 empty cases of 60 & 80mm mortars vic XS709943.
17 0740 A/4/23 (Mech) found and blew one 81mm round vic 705934.
18 0745 4/9 requested dustoff for 1 individual with fever of 103 degrees vic Bn CP XS727966.
20 0820 2/14 reported 5 rounds of SA fired into bunker line from north of new Laterite pit.
33 1515 2/27 spotted two VC vic XT631175, called Arty.  2 VC KIA (Poss).
41 2020 1st Bde VR saw what appeared to be two rocket positions vic 755921.  25 meters to their rear was another position that looked like an ammo cache.
43 2245 Ref Item 40:  Ground recon made by G2, G3 CMD found 12 ft wells.  No rocket launcher positions.
44 2150 Delayed Entry 1930 hrs:  4/9 patrol MERCURY on way to ambush site.  300 meters from base camp, made contact with approx 4 VC, engaged with SA fire.  3 VC KIA (BC), no US casualties, XS714936.
46 2205 Delayed Entry 2046 hrs:  Patrol MERCURY engaged approx 14 VC at ambush site vic XS699943.  Results 1 VC KIA (BC).  No US casualties.
50 2400 SUMMARY:  Opns ALA MOANA and MAKALAPA and security operations vic Cu Chi base camp continued.  ASCC's continue at Cu Chi and Vinh Loc.  The 4/9 Inf conducted saturation patrolling vic Co base and a Bn seal and search operation vic XS7094.  The 2/14 Inf conducted night ambush patrolling and security opns vic Cu Chi base.
PLANS SUMMARY:  4/9 Inf Bn will continue saturation patrolling and local security opns vic separate Co bases.  2/14 Inf Bn will continue security opns vic Cu Chi base and conduct a platoon (Co C) airmobile assault and BUDDY S&D with RF Co Cu Chi vic XT6111, LZ time 0645.  4/23 Inf Bn continue as Div reserve.
