Msg from Bn CO - our resupply elements are to remain out of Manchu TRIPLE QUEBEC area because of artillery being fired and to stay in our own AO zone.

55 0819 Manchu asked permission for Stinger to make a run in the area of TRIPLE NOVEMBER from northwest to southeast.  Granted.
57 0908 Manchu informed 2/14 of a dud 500 lb bomb at XS638881.
62 1030 2/14 granted permission to Issue 11 to put an air strike in at XS614816.  Suspected VC base camps.
63 1045 Sgt Windsor from PROUD UPLAND 20 informed 2/14 of a body of a 1st or 2nd Lt minus its head found floating in the river at Loung Hoa XS570880.  Only identification was 25th Div patch and name tag Wente.
68 1159 A Co found bunker 4 ft x 4ft at XS624879, will destroy.
72 1319 A Co found 2 concrete reinforced bunkers at XS620875, will destroy.
73 1345 A Co found 20 booby-traps in one of the bunkers, will be destroyed.
74 1408 A Co found 1 concrete reinforced bunker and 3 butterfly bombs, also one log and wood bunker.  All were blown, on Canal 71.
76 1510 Air strike is completed in XS608860.
77 1513 A Co found 3 800 lb napalm bombs at XS620873, will blow.
80 1735 Finished resupply to A, C Co's.
85 2020 A Co reports receiving 1 round of M-1, no casualties
86 2025 A Co requests 40 lbs C-4, 25 ft of defcord wire, 50 ft of time fuse, 1 case of smoke to be sent out on tomorrow resupply.
87 2027 C Co requests 50 lbs C-4, 1 case of smoke, 1 case of PRC-25 batteries, 1 case of grenades, 24 blasting caps, 1 bottle of salt tablets, 5 cases of oranges.
    Daily Sit/Rep 101801H to 111800H Apr 67

1.  Operational Summary:

  a.  General:  2/14th Inf continued to defend in sector at forward base camp vic Ben Luc.  Five LP's were conducted during the hours of darkness and security was maintained throughout the perimeter.  2/14 Inf (-) continued to advance toward Obj CHARLIE vic XS628888 and then proceeded southwest along canal NOVEMBER to destroy VC fortifications and facilities in AO ST GEORGE and continued S&D operations in sector.  Two 105 howitzer batteries and the heavy mortar platoon continued to fire in direct support of the battalion operation.  In addition, the Engr and the Recon Platoon cleared the road from the forward base camp to Ben Luc.  Also, the base camp received 2 rounds of 60mm mortar fire at 101822, no casualties were sustained.
