C Co resupply of demo completed.

59 0810 Resupply of ammo for A Co complete.
60 0835 Tropic 66 picked up Bn CO at C Co location
61 0845 TIGHTEN LOCKER 15 has contact with an estimated squad of VC at XS599848, requests a fire team.
62 0910 A & C Co began movement at 0910 hrs.
63 0952 TIGHTEN LOCKER 15 requests dustoff for 2 ARVN WIA, legs wounds from booby-trap, LZ at 597846.
65 1055 A Co found 2 bunkers and a grass hooch at XS608868, will destroy.
66 1137 C Co found box of documents in bunker at XS612868.
68 1225 A Co found freshly cultivated rice fields and water crocks used by VC at XS604867.
69 1230 A Co found a small hospital, material, 1 mine, small hooch, possibly 1 VC platoon size element occupied the area.
70 1255 A Co reports finding well-cultivated pineapple field with fresh pineapples, also 30 lbs rice, recommends a napalm strike on the area after they leave vic 604867.
71 1345 Resupply of water to A & C Co completed.
73 1535 A Co found 1 concrete and brick building 6 ft tall x 35 ft long x 30 ft wide at XS600864, will destroy.
74 1540 Bn CO C&C ship went to Manchu location for dustoff XS703923
79 1902 Informed by Bde that emergency resupply aircraft are on the way.
88 2143 A Co requests 4 sets jungle fatigue pants, 1 box foot powder, 1 case M-26 grenades.

1.  Operational Summary:

  a.  General:  2/14th Inf continued to defend in sector at forward base camp vic Ben Luc.  Five LP's were conducted during the hours of darkness and security was maintained through the perimeter.  2/14 Inf (-) continued to advance adjacent to canal NOVEMBER toward canal 62 vic XS602869, upon crossing canal 62 the battalion (1) began their assault Southeasterly and established their RON site vic XS601865.  One company remained in base camp for security and continued to improve their defensive position.  Two 105 howitzer batteries and the heavy mortar platoon continued to fire in direct support of the battalions operation.  In addition the Engr and Recon Platoon cleared the road from the forward base camp to Ben Luc.
