Sitrep - negative

   

Summary:  Received sniper report soon after midnight for AP Bullseye - 1 body count.  Hunsley spotted movement form the tower and on radar - arty engaged targets.  Night Hawk, gunships, flare ship and C&C ship engaged enemy with their ordnance.  Arty credited with 10 body count and C&C ship credited with 5 body count.  B Co's ballgame was changed to a sweep of the contact area with assistance of tracker team - one blood trail.  Bn Cmdr flew VR over area and LST was employed.  Co A conducted one early morning RIF at first light and one later afternoon RIF - both were from FSB.  Co C conducted recon operation out of NDP - took under fire two individuals who ran from a hootch.  Found 1 wounded male, 1 man Chieu Hoi, found 10 graves less than three days old - fragmentation wounds.  CRIP conducted VCI operations vic Hunsley, found 1100 lbs of rice, VC literature, 23 detainees - held 2 possible VC for questioning.  TF Chaudrue closed into Trung Lap BS terminated operation.  Hunsley had visual sighting of 25-30 individuals SW of their position and engaged with arty.  1 duffel bag activation near Bau Dieu - could not be engaged due to close proximity of ARVN patrol.  Venice East engaged 5 individuals with M-60 who fled from the area.
