Summary:  VC turned himself in as a Chieu Hoi at Patton at first light.  Co A was on stand down in Cu Chi today.  B Co moved out to the east of Dong Tien and acted as a blocking force for C Co vicinity X Bung - blew 8 bunkers and tunnels, found 2 RPG rockets, 200 lbs of rice, 4 82mm rounds, 1 anti-personnel mine, 1 155mm dud.  C Co heliborne into AO Branch in northern Filhol.  Destroyed several tunnels and bunkers, took 1 POW with weapon who led them to the camp of his unit.  Made contact with VC unit hidden in tunnels.  2 body count confirmed and 3 more probable.  Gunships accounted for 1 other body count.  Sustained 4 WIAs and 1 KIA, also 1 Kit Carson WIA.  Lifted out by helicopter.  Will search area further tomorrow.  D Co heliborne into northern sector of AO Branch, destroyed 2 tunnels and found 1 155mm dud.  CRIP's planned raid cancelled because of C Company's contact.  1 Co 2/49th ARVN operated southeast of Dong Tien, found 3 cases of new AK ammo.  D Co conducted 1 NCP southwest of Hunsley.  Co B and 2 Co 2/49th ARVN conducted 2 NCP's out of Dong Tien.
