Summary:
   At 0730 hours 3rd Co 1/49th ARVN hit a 105mm booby-trap with a trip wire at  grid (597230), 4 WIA.  At 0854 hours 2 Brigade Avn spotted 1 enemy in open at (600293).  B Co heliborned from Hunsley to (602303) and (607305) at 1015 hours.  C Co went from Patton to (625293) and (625287) at 1035 hours.  D Co heliborned from Patton to (645287) and (605279) at 1100 hours.
   116th Avn 86 spotted 12 enemy in a bunker vicinity of (615235).  At 1159 hours B Co found a 60mm mortar round booby-trapped at (599301).
   The C&C ship spotted 10 to 15 enemy in the 6123 grid and engaged them at 1200 hours.  At 1241 hours C Co found an old M-60 machine gun at (625284).  D Co found 3 NVA bodies in a grave at (651282).  They had been dead about 30 days.  There was another body in the open.
   LTC Crutchley credited two body count to the 116th Avn at 1345 hours for the action in the 6123 grid.  A search after an air strike at (621215) found 3 AK's, 1 POW, 1 body, some legs and personal gear.  Total action killed 17 enemy, two by 116th Avn, 12 to artillery and air strikes, 1 to the ARVNs.
   At 1457 hours the 1/49th found 3 more bodies, grenades and a compass along with documents.  The 116th Avn in the vicinity of (610224) destroyed some bunkers and killed four more enemy.  About five minutes later at 1816 hours the 116th Avn killed one more enemy running in the open at (603221).
   A Co 2nd platoon ambushed 10 enemy at (635238) killing four.  They were carrying weapons.  Artillery was employed against the remaining enemy with unknown results.  The time of their contact was 1905 hours.
