   C Co 3 platoon rest and prep for extraction from Bushmaster area.  PZ (pickup zone) vic (in vicinity of) AP's (ambush patrols) at 1100 hrs, return to Fire Base Jackson, rest, care and maintenance of equipment.  1 platoon conduct 2 section size AP's vic FSB.  2 platoons provide security at FSB Jackson.

    Summary:
At 0032 hours, D Co AP DZ at 387103 spotted enemy moving to north.  They fired Arty illumination but had negative sightings.  They will sweep the area in the morning.  D Co started airmobile at 1010 and closed at Phouc Luu at 1045.  C Co started airmobile at 1105 and closed Jackson at 1140.  D Co requested one routine ambulatory dustoff for a VN civilian at 1325 who lost part of a thumb.  At 1505 hrs B Co started airmobile from Jackson and moved to bushmaster LZ at 1547.  By 2005 hrs all AP were in their ambush sites.  At 2126 D Co spotted 3 individuals at 348165 about 200 meters west.  Radar also spotted individuals at 352160.  Radar picked up 15 more personnel moving west at grid 349159.  D Co AP-R popped their bush on two personnel at 2212 hrs at grid 339169.  They moved out to sweep area and received light fire, so returned to AP site.  Radar picked up 8-10 individuals at 2225 hrs at grid 358180.  D Co Adjusted artillery fire on target and will sweep the area in the morning.  AP-R swept their area under cover of Diamond Head 1 at 2300 and found one dead enemy.  D Co then spotted movement at grid 348165 about 350 meters away and engaged with M-79 fire.  They will check the area in the morning.
