Regiment Home of the 1st Battalion of the 14th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Golden Dragons, our sister battalion.  This site has great photos of the terrain and bases where the battalion worked, pictures of the men, and also terrain maps and pictures of the enemy and their weapons.
 
Crusaders - 187th 187th Assault Helicopters Many a grunt owes his life to the heroic chopper crews who came in under fire to provide close air support, a welcome lift home, or a ride to the MedEvac hospital.  For the 2nd/14th, the 187th Crusaders were often the guys in white hats coming to the rescue.
 
Bobcats - 1/5th Infantry (Mech) Regiment 5th Infantry Regiment Home of the Bobcats, the 5th Infantry Regiment, including the 1st/5th (Mechanized), the armored personnel carriers of choice for the 2nd/14th Inf. "Golden Dragons"!

2/34th Armor 2/34th Armored Regiment Dreadnaughts - mobile armored support was provided by tanks of the 2/34th Armored Regiment.  I remember my first encounter with these heavyweights in the Ho Bo Woods.  Always a source of strength and comfort to a grunt, we're glad we served on the same side!
 
The Clan - 3/13th Artillery 3/13th Field Artillery The "Clan" - mobile artillery support used at many of our fire support bases, in the form of big self-propelled 155mm cannon.  Bravo Company
 
35th Infantry - "Cacti" 35th Infantry Association The "Cacti" - Served with the 25th Inf. Div. in 1966, then in 1967 was assigned to the 4th Inf. Div.
 
Tomahawks - 4/23rd Infantry (Mech) 4/23rd Infantry (Mech) Tomahawks - this mechanized unit supported operations for the 25th Infantry Division.  The site contains company rosters, reunion information, photos and more.
 
Manchus - 4/9th Infantry 9th Infantry Regiment Home of the Manchus, and of the 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment that served with the 25th Infantry Division in Vietnam

Texas Tech. - Vietnam Project Texas Tech. University has a significant and growing library of original papers, documents, Tropic Lightning News, oral histories, film, and other artifacts regarding America's involvement in Vietnam.  The breadth of the collection is surprising, and the Library is building its web site to make as much as possible available on-line.

The Birth of "Quick Kill" The history behind the development of the Quick Kill program and how it was adopted by the Army during the time of the Vietnam conflict.
   
"Quick Kill" Training Program The Army developed a program to train soldiers to fire quickly and accurately without using the rifle's sights, for use in ambush and close-quarter situations.  Training was conducted using Daisy BB air guns.
